Troubleshooting Storyboard2Rise Conversions

Common issues and solutions when converting storyboards to Rise courses.

Content Not Appearing in the Right Sections

Cause: Inconsistent heading levels in the Word document.

Fix: Make sure you use Heading 1 for lessons and Heading 2 for sections. Avoid skipping heading levels (e.g., going from H1 directly to H3).

Images Missing After Conversion

Cause: Images may be linked rather than embedded in the Word document.

Fix: Make sure images are embedded (not linked/referenced) in your Word file. Copy-paste images directly into the document.

Formatting Looks Different in Rise

Cause: Rise has its own styling system that doesn't support all Word formatting.

Fix: Stick to basic formatting: bold, italic, lists, and standard headings. Custom fonts, colors, and advanced layouts will need manual adjustment in Rise.

File Upload Fails

Cause: File may not be a .docx format, or it may be too large.

Fix: Ensure you're uploading a .docx file (not .doc or PDF). If the file is very large, try splitting it into multiple documents.

Course Structure Is Flat (No Sections)

Cause: The document uses only body text without headings.

Fix: Add Heading 1 and Heading 2 styles to create the lesson/section hierarchy. See the formatting guide.
