How to Format Your Word Storyboard

Storyboard2Rise converts Word storyboards into Articulate Rise courses. To get the best results, your Word document should follow a consistent structure.

Basic Structure

Your Word document should use headings and body text to define the course structure:

  • Heading 1 — Becomes a Rise lesson/module
  • Heading 2 — Becomes a section within a lesson
  • Body text — Becomes the content blocks in Rise
  • Bullet lists — Converted to Rise list blocks
  • Images — Embedded images are carried into Rise

Tips for Best Results

  • Use consistent heading levels — don't skip from H1 to H3
  • Keep each section focused on one topic
  • Include clear, descriptive headings
  • Use standard Word formatting (bold, italic, lists)

What Converts Well

  • Text paragraphs
  • Bulleted and numbered lists
  • Embedded images
  • Bold and italic formatting
  • Heading hierarchy

What May Need Manual Adjustment

  • Complex tables (may need reformatting in Rise)
  • Custom Word styles that don't map to standard headings
  • Embedded videos or media
