Creating Polls and CTAs in CourseSignal

Polls and Calls-to-Action (CTAs) are powerful engagement tools in CourseSignal. Polls gather learner input; CTAs drive learners to take action.

Creating a Poll

  1. Open your course in the CourseSignal dashboard
  2. Click Create Modal and select Poll
  3. Write your question
  4. Add answer options (multiple choice)
  5. Choose whether to show results to learners after they vote
  6. Set scheduling and deploy

Poll Use Cases

  • Knowledge checks — Quick comprehension questions mid-course
  • Confidence polls — "How confident are you about this topic?"
  • Preference surveys — "Which topic should we cover next?"

Results are available in real-time in the dashboard.

Creating a Call-to-Action

  1. Click Create Modal and select Call-to-Action
  2. Write your CTA message
  3. Add the action button (link to URL, enrollment page, etc.)
  4. Set scheduling and deploy

CTA Use Cases

  • Course enrollment — "Ready for Advanced? Enroll now"
  • Resource downloads — "Download the reference guide"
  • Social sharing — "Share your completion with your team"
  • External links — Link to related resources or tools

  • Polls: 300 Sparks per modal view (Advanced Modal)
