Injecting Alerts into Published Courses
Alerts are the simplest CourseSignal modal type. Use them to display important notices to learners without touching your course files.
When to Use Alerts
- Deadline reminders — "This course must be completed by March 15"
- Content corrections — "The policy number on slide 5 has been updated to X"
- System notices — "The system will be down for maintenance Saturday"
- Schedule changes — "The live session has moved to Thursday at 2pm"
Creating an Alert
- Open your course in the CourseSignal dashboard
- Click Create Modal and select Alert
- Write your alert message — keep it short and clear
- Choose a template or customize the appearance
- Set scheduling (see below)
- Click Deploy
Smart Scheduling
CourseSignal offers three scheduling modes:
- Immediate — Shows as soon as the course loads
- Timed Delay — Display after a specific time interval
- Inactivity — Triggers when the learner goes idle
Cost
Alerts are Simple Modals: 100 Sparks per modal view. Testing is free, so preview your alert before deploying.
