Sparks are the virtual credits that power all Happy Alien products. This guide explains how they work and how to use them effectively.
What Are Sparks?
Sparks are credits used to access AI-powered features across the Happy Alien ecosystem. Think of them as tokens that fuel your creative and educational work:
- One spark balance works across all products
- Real-time balance updates
- Transparent pricing for every action
- Detailed transaction history
How Sparks Are Used
Different actions cost different amounts of sparks, based on the AI resources required:
AI Media Studio
- Image generation: 1-5 sparks (varies by model)
- Audio generation: 3-10 sparks
- Video generation: 10-50 sparks
- Voice cloning: 5 sparks
Course Tools
- Course translation: 20-100 sparks per course
- Course extraction: 10-30 sparks
- Storyboard to Rise: 15-40 sparks
Other Products
- Video to course conversion: 25-75 sparks
- Analytics chatbot: 2 sparks per query
- Modal injections: 1 spark per deployment
Note: Exact costs are shown before each action in the product interface.
Checking Your Balance
Your current spark balance is always visible:
- Dashboard - Large balance card on main page
- Navigation Bar - Top-right corner in all products
- Before Actions - Confirmation dialogs show cost and remaining balance
Balance Warnings
The system alerts you when:
- Balance drops below 50 sparks
- An action would leave you with less than 10 sparks
- You don't have enough sparks for an action
Transaction History
View all spark transactions in the Usage page:
- Go to Dashboard
- Click "Usage" in the sidebar
- Filter by date range or product
- Export to CSV if needed
Each transaction shows:
- Product and action
- Sparks consumed
- Timestamp
- Balance after transaction
- Metadata (generation settings, file names, etc.)
Spark Sources
Sparks can be added to your account through:
- Welcome Bonus - Free sparks when you sign up
- One-Time Purchases - Buy spark packs as needed
- Subscriptions - Monthly automatic allocations
- Promotional Credits - Occasional bonuses and campaigns
Organizations
If you're part of an organization:
- Organization has a shared spark pool
- Any member can consume sparks
- Admins see all member usage
- Individual balance shows organization sparks
Refunds & Credits
If an action fails or produces unsatisfactory results:
- Some failures automatically refund sparks
- Contact support for manual review
- Unused spark packs may be eligible for refund
